Since CentOS6/RHEL6, boot messages are hidden behind a splash screen that display a progress bar. To show the boot progression, simply press the “arrow up“ key.
To make the change permanently, edit the Grub configuration file :
/boot/grub/grub.conf
And remove the following :
rhgb quiet
