With VMware Server 2 Web interface, you get this message when trying to open a virtual machine console:
Error opening the remote virtual machine hostname:8333/16
The host name could not be resolved.
This error happen when no DNS server is configured on the network interface of your workstation (not the server itself). Just add a DNS server address on the interface and problem should be resolved.
*Note that this problem occur even if you are using the direct IP address…
