Using the VMware Server 2 Web management interface, you may get the following error trying to access to the virtual machine console:
Cannot connect to host hostname: Unknown error 10060 (0x274c)
The problem is that the console port is probably blocked by the firewall. You need to have the Web interface port (TCP-8333 or 8333 for SSL) open, plus TCP-902 for console functionality.
